A few times each year I get to watch Sweetwater’s high school baseball and softball teams play a common opponent on the same day. I’ve been doing it for over 15 years, in fact.
Rarely, however, in all that time have both of the SHS teams played more en-tertaining games the same day than they did at Wylie on Tuesday.
The Sweetwater Fire Department responded to a fire on Musgrove Street on Tuesday. A storage unit, owned by a private owner, caught fire and sent flames and smoke high into the air, also causing a grass fire a block away on Neff Street. Due to a downed power line that was still "hot" firefighters had to use their ladder truck to extinguish the storage unit fire. The storage unit was near Pickrell Wrecker Service and the business sustained only minor damages. Everything that was in the storage unit — including a vehicle and a recreational vehicle — was destroyed by the fire.

Billie Dunn has hired attorney John S. Young to represent her in her three misdemeanor charges: hindering and apprehension, possession of dangerous drugs and false report to a police officer.
Young says he isn't convinced a search warrant for Adkins body was issued last Thursday.
"(Police) didn't even have an arrest warrant for the boyfriend, it was a matter of wanting to talk to him," said Young.
