Sweetwater Christian School held their annual silent auction and Christmas program on Tuesday evening at the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall where many gathered to see an elaborate performance.

Many local businesses donate their time each year at the Sweetwater Goodfellows Christmas party. Goodfellows distributes toys, food

The Sweetwater Goodfellows held their food and toy distribution on Friday, helping 208 families and over 700 people with Christmas toys for children of Nolan County that they might not have otherwise. Each child received three toys and each family received a bag of food, a Brookshire’s gift card and a free hen from Brookshire’s. Many volunteers contributed their time at the distribution and Christmas party.

Blood drive will benefit blood bank and food pantry

A blood drive that will benefit Meek Blood Center and the Nolan County Welfare Office Food Pantry will take place on Monday, Dec. 20. Meek Blood Center will have two bloodmobiles parked at the Nolan County Courthouse from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Donors are asked to bring at least two non-perishable food items to the blood drive. In return, those who donate blood will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt and a $5 Sonic gift card.
