Two lives were claimed on Monday morning after an apparent murder-suicide took place in Nolan County, according to Nolan County Sheriff David Warren. The Nolan County Sheriff's Office spent the day working two scenes of a homicide and suicide connected to a domestic situation in Nolan County.
Seven guilty pleas were entered in the 32nd Judicial Court before Judge Glen Harrison this past week.
Billy John Rosas pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, namely cocaine. The offense, categorized as a third degree felony, occurred on March 28, 2010.
Under the law, punishment should range not more than 10 years or less than two years imprisonment in the penitentiary. An optional fine not to exceed $10,000 is also allowed.
The Nolan County Foundation presented a check for a $1,000 to Sweetwater Christian School this past Wednesday following Chapel time. The children showed their appreciation with a little song for Mr. Glenn Bennett, board member of the Nolan County Foundation, singing "Sweetwater Christian School has many friends!"

J.P. Cowen Early Childhood Center received two special visitors last week —Santa and Mrs. Claus. The two stopped by to visit with students and take photos with the students. They are shown with Sweetwater Independent School District Superintendent Terry Pittman and SISD Assistant Superintendent Kathy Smartt.
