Sweetwater Police officers responded to a 911 call, of an unresponsive male at Apache Bend Apartments, on Saturday, Jan. 15 shortly before 2 p.m..
According to Chief of Police Jim Kelley, officers found Carvin Coy Lemmons, 43, of Sweetwater deceased, upon arrival at the scene.
"Lemmons was found with one stab wound to the mid-section," Kelley said.
The investigation led officers to Shayquapla (Shay) Walker. Walker, Lemmons long-time girlfriend, reportedly arrived at the apartments, stabbed Lemmons and fled the scene.
"Walker has been cooperative with investigators," Kelley said.
About three weeks have passed since Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn has been missing.
Even as time passes, the search remains strong. Law enforcement officials and even groups of volunteers continue searches daily locally in Colorado City, the small town of Dunn, and in various nearby counties.
Hailey was reported missing on December 28th by her mother, Billie Jean Dunn. She was reportedly last seen by Shawn Adkins, Dunn's former boyfriend, the afternoon of December 27th.
