The City Commission met for their regular session meeting on Tuesday morning, Feb. 8 at City Hall.
Several items for approval were presented at the meeting. Among them was the ordinance ordering for an election to be held on May 14. During this city election, voters would be electing for mayor and city commissioners in Precincts 1 and 3. The ordinance was approved.

The second annual â€śRidinâ€™ for Cashâ€ť Bull Bash will be an even larger event than last year, with many vendor booths being set up before the action begins. The event will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at the Nolan County Coliseum. Doors will open at 5 p.m. so that those attending will have time to visit vendor booths, the silent auction and the concession stand.
There will be about 30 vendors that will be selling many items including leather goods, jewelry, candles, Scentsy items, clothes, crosses and much more.
Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors were on hand at Sweetwater Auto-Tire on Tuesday for a ribbon cutting and open house for the new business. The business is located at 1509 Lamar Street and provides auto services including oil changes and unlocking vehicles and provides new and used tires including Firestone, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Cooper and more.
