Fatal crash kills Andrews judge

May 23, 2011

One person was killed in a motorcycle crash on Saturday afternoon at 6:33 p.m. in Nolan County. The crash was on Interstate 20 mile marker 237 in the westbound lane.
Deceased was Gerome Cloyd Black, 79 years of age from Andrews, Texas. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:25 p.m. by Nolan County Judge Tim Fambrough. The body was taken to McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.

‘Walk Across America’ stops locally

Petty Officer Thomas Trujillo with the United States Naval Reserves recently visited Sweetwater Elks’ Lodge #1257 on his “Walk Across America”. He is the President and Founder of the nonprofit One Soldiers Dream. He started a walk across the United States on February 1, 2011 at the Santa Monica Pier in California, and his destination is Washington, DC. He is doing this walk to get the nonprofit’s name out to the national public as quickly as possible.
