The Nolan County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help in solving a crime that occurred at the Sweetwater Country Club. Sometime between 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2011, and 10 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011, unknown person(s) caused damage to several golf carts and also caused damage to one of the greens on the golf course.
Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for information received this week that leads to an arrest or indictment in this case.

Employees of Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital recently donated bottled water to assist local firefighters and volunteers. The students at Kids Kampus school-age center had the chance to take a fun field trip on Friday to the Texas Theater. The students watched an animated movie and also received a personal popcorn and drink to enjoy the movie.
The Big Country Cutting Horse Association Secretary and Director of Big Country Cutting Horse Association, Suzy Watson received a check in the amount of $17,500 from the Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce. A competition was held this weekend at the Nolan County Coliseum. Shown giving the check are Chamber President Tom Rees, Jr. and Chamber Executive Vice President Jacque McCoy.
The Nolan County Commissioners Court called a special meeting on Friday, July 1, at the Nolan County Courthouse.
As approval must take place on a weekly basis, approval was once again given to extend the disaster declaration for Nolan County along with the order prohibiting outdoor burning for one week.

The City Entertainment Committee in Roscoe approved the overall plan for Roscoeâs Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 2.Â

Jesse Lee Sturdivant was found not guilty by a jury on the charge of injury to a child on Wednesday afternoon, June 29, 2011 in the 32nd Judicial District Court. The two-day trial was presided over by Judge Glen Harrison.
The trial, which started on Tuesday afternoon, June 28, stemmed from a visit made by Child Protective Services (CPS) nearly two years ago on June 25, 2009, to the home of Sturdivant's girlfriend, Jennifer Bates, on 815 Circle Drive. Sturdivant lived with Bates and her children for approximately three months.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 38 calls for service, issued four citations and made no arrests on June 29, 2011.
The SPD received 19, 911 calls.

The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had 10 calls for service, served seven civil papers and made one arrest on June 29, 2011.
