In 2009, a company explored the opportunity to build a set of apartments in Sweetwater.Â They were looking to be able to get federal tax credits to build an 80 unit complex.Â The projections are to have 24 three bedroom, 32 two bedroom and 24 one bedroom apartments.Â The complex is being constructed on Interstate 20 near the Arizona Street exit.Â "The patience of the company paid off as construction started in the spring of 2011 and we are excited to see the completion of the construction which is expected somewhere around July of 2012, but no specific completion date has been set," said Executive

The Nolan County Hospital District Board of Directors met for a regular meeting on Monday evening, Aug. 29, 2011 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital (RPMH).
The 2012 budget for the hospital was approved, following no changes from the Budget Workshop previously held on Monday, Aug. 22. The proposed tax rate was set at .25237, which was the same as last year.

In a weekend gathering to remember Dunn, supporters like Carrie McGonigle had tough words for local law enforcement.

A rain report was released for the latest rainfall receives by Nolan County on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011.
According to the report, Lake Trammell received no rain while Oak Creek receives 0.20 inches of rain and Lake Sweetwater received 0.15 inches of rain. The filter plant received 0.44 inches of rain. Booster B, the wastewater plant, well field p.s. and CR 151 received no rain.

Crane Service, Inc. of Sweetwater recently introduced the GMK 7550, a 550-ton crane. The local business welcomed the huge addition in its continued efforts to offer a wide range of services. The crane was on location for the community to view in Sweetwater during an open house event on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011.
For the past 51 years, Crane Service has specialized in rigging along with heavy hoisting and hauling to the greater Southwest region of the United States.
