The driver of a Honda Odyssey was airlifted via Native Air to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene on Thursday afternoon around 5 p.m. The driver was said to have lost control of his vehicle, driving between the guardrails and off of an Interstate 20 bridge near Cemetery Road, just east of Roscoe. The vehicle impacted the concrete below the bridge and climbed up to the median before stopping. The driver was listed in stable condition.
Members of the Nolan County Foundation Board announced the awarding of six $2,000 grants to each of the Nolan County fire departments and a $10,000 challenge grant to the Pioneer City-County Museum. According to Jerry Riggs, President of the NCF, the awards are a part of a continuing program for the NCF to recognize worthwhile projects that will benefit all of Nolan County.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 38 calls for service, issued no citations and made no arrests on Aug. 10, 2011.
The SPD received 35, 911 calls.
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had four calls for service, served eight civil papers and made no arrests on Aug. 10, 2011.
