The Angelo State University Alumni Association will recognize distinguished alumni, honorary alumni and outstanding faculty and staff during its annual Homecoming Dinner on Friday, Oct. 14, in the LeGrand Alumni Visitors Center, 1620 University Ave.
Sweetwater native Adelina Castro Morales is this year's honoree for Distinguished Staff Achievement, selected for her outstanding service and longstanding dedication to Angelo State University. She is the daughter of Joe and Frances Castro of Sweetwater. Morales and her husband, Alfred, have two sons, David and Adrian, both graduates of ASU.
Sweetwater Christian School proudly announces our first âHave You Filled a Bucket Today?â winners. This is a program for children to see how very easy and rewarding it is to express kindness, appreciation and love on a daily basis. The winners for this week pictured from left to right are Jackson Wyatt from Mrs. Almaâs class, Blayne Bohall from Mrs. Scaggsâ class, Cristian Hernandez from Mrs. Paigeâs class, Lexi DeLeon from Mrs. Hasteyâs class and Amare Arevalo from Mrs. Brandiâs class.

The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 51 calls for service, issued one citation and made one arrest on Sept. 27, 2011.
