This is Dana Cooper's second visit to Java Jax to perform since last year.
The first artist to perform at Java Jax's cozy set up corner stage last year during the Rattlesnake Round-Up was country/folk musician Buch Hancock of Lubbock. Since then there have been many other talented musicians to visit and entertain.
Smith: When did you really start playing music and enjoy playing to an audience?
Cooper: "I started at the age of 12 and was on the road by the age of 19.
The search continues for missing 13-year-old Hailey Dunn from Colorado City.
However, the efforts have expanded with the involvement of over 20 officers from various agencies, including the 32nd District Attorney's office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Rangers and even the FBI.
The Nolan County Coliseum hosted this monthâ€™s Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce coffee event and Sweetwater residents and chamber members filled the lobby of the coliseum. Many enjoyed coffee, cookies and networking at the event.
Shahala Strother was the winner of a drawing held at the Sweetwater Reporter for a free six-month subscription and a $25 gift card. To enter the contest, residents had to donate six canned goods or a new unwrapped toy to benefit the Sweetwater Goodfellows.
Shown is one of the new transmission towers being installed at the east entrance to Sweetwater off of I-20. This is part of the Texas Public Utility Commission's (PUC) $5 billion transmission line expansion to move West Texas wind power toward North Texas and Houston. These lines and routes were established as part of the Competitive Renewable Energy Zone (CREZ). Oncor was one of the successful bidders to build the lines. Of the $5 billion dollar project, Oncor received $1.34 billion for their part of the construction and installation of the new transmission lines.
A broken water line from the second floor of Adkins Supply in Sweetwater flooded the lower level area of the building on Tuesday. A water cleaning crew was cleaning up the water damage that covered the lower level flooring throughout the day.

The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce will have their monthly coffee event at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at the Nolan County Coliseum, located at 1699 Cypress Street in Sweetwater. Use the East entrance to the Coliseum. The Nolan County Coliseum is a beehive of activity virtually every weekend of the year. Not only does it host the Sweetwater Jaycees Worldâ€™s Largest annual Rattlesnake Round-Up, but it also has livestock shows, cutting horse shows, rodeos, civic events, arts and crafts shows, specialty products expositions and a variety of community events.
It has been a week since a 13-year-old girl from Colorado City has been missing.
Hailey Darlene Dunn was last seen on Monday, Dec. 27, at 1804 Chestnut Street in Colorado City around 1 p.m., wearing navy blue sweatpants, a short sleeved light colored T-shirt and pink and white tennis shoes. Hailey has hazel eyes, pierced ears and brown hair with blondish streaks. She is 5'1" and weighs 120 pounds.
New elected officials were sworn in for 2011 on Monday during a ceremony held at the Nolan County Courthouse. 32nd Judicial District Judge Glen Harrison swore in nine officials during the ceremony including Nolan County Court at Law Judge David Hall, Nolan County Judge Tim Fambrough, Nolan County Commissioner, Precinct 2 Terry Locklar, Nolan County Commissioner, Precinct 4 Tony Lara, District Clerk, Patti Neill, County Clerk Pat McGowan, County Treasurer Gayle Biggerstaff, Justice of the Peace Sharon Gardner and County Surveyor, Stanley Morris.
