Listed below are the candidates that will appear on the November 6 general election ballot for voters' respective precincts, in an effort to give voters the opportunity to personally learn about these candidates prior to Election Day.
The Sweetwater Reporter encourages all registered voters to head to the polls on Tuesday, November 6 to make their voice heard.
President and Vice President:
Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan (Republican)
Barack Obama/Joe Biden (Democratic)
Gary Johnson/Jim Gray (Libertarian)
Jill Stein/Cheri Honkala (Green)
United States Senator:
Ted Cruz (Rep)
It happened at the Chillerz #5 convenience store, on 12th Street in Roscoe on Friday evening, Oct. 19, 2012. According to the Nolan County Sheriff's Office, a woman was shopping at the convenience store when a man barged in and robbed her of $200.
In an attempt to recover the money, the victim was dragged from the parking lot onto the north frontage road of Interstate 20, prior to falling from the vehicle. She suffered minor injuries.
On Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, Trinity Baptist Church celebrated the realization of a 50-year vision.Â Since the beginning of the church, Trinity has had a vision of growth.Â The original church was constructed with a planned addition and while the plans were modified over time, the vision to grow and serve the community of Sweetwater has remained steadfast.
The Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department made a correction to one of the awards at the cook-off. The Second Place Steak box number was read out incorrectly by a cook-off official and no team responded at the time of the awards with that number.
The committee reviewed the numbers on the box and found that it was their mistake and not a cooking team. The winning cooking team was then awarded their prize.
