The Sweetwater Junior Varsity Mustang baseball game with Wylie has been cancelled for today. They will play a double header on Saturday, April 7, 2012.
The 2012 U.S. FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) was held the first weekend of March for the Regional events in San Antonio. Competing in that Regional were 64 teams representing a number of states and Mexico. The game this year was entitled â€śRebound Rumble.â€ť Traveling down to the Alamo Regional was the Roscoe Plowbots who made their third straight appearance in the FRC contest. The objective in the game was for teams, along with their alliance teams, to score as many baskets in goals that ranged from two to eight feet high.
High Sky Childrenâ€™s Ranch and the West Texas Childrenâ€™s Advocacy Center have once again partnered to host the Seventh Annual West Texas Child Abuse Awareness Family FunFair in Sweetwater. The FunFair will be held at the Nolan County Coliseum Annex on Wednesday, April 4, from 4-6:30 p.m. The Time of Remembrance will start at 6:05 p.m. and organizers ask that everybody stay for the ceremony honoring children who have been victims of child abuse.

Twelve-year-old Journee Pugh, a sixth grader at Highland ISD, competed in the preliminary round held at the Mall of Abilene on Saturday, March 3, 2012.
The talent competition is sponsored by Chorus Abilene and the Steve Arthur Family Foundation in Abilene.
Journee was one of 103 contestants who sang to advance to the final round. She is the youngest finalist out of twelve performers and three alternates; the oldest is 47.
