A woman led law enforcement officers through a high speed chase on I-20 spanning three counties Wednesday evening.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. The driver of a black Honda Civic led police on a chase through Abilene and Merkel and ended in Nolan county just past exit 249 near Sweetwater.
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office said the driver may have a felony arrest warrant out of Tarrant County.
The driver was arrested for evading arrest or detention using a motor vehicle.
Tracey Marc Daniel, 42, of Sweetwater was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Monday, March 20, 2012, in Nolan County.
Daniel was driving a 2002 Freightliner and towed trailer west bound on County Road 147 in Nolan County, one mile west of Farm Road 1809, around 11:46 p.m. He failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The truck traveled off the roadway to the south and overturned. Daniel was not wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:50 a.m. by Judge Tim Fambrough. His body was taken to McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Investigators are not saying if there were any clothes found at the scene where human remains were discovered Tuesday afternoon in Big Spring.
They are also still unable to determine the gender of the person whose remains were found near the McMahon-Wrinkle Airport, just two miles away from Shawn Adkins' mother's house.
Investigators did say that the remains were located in a dirt and grass area where workers do not go frequently, although they did not say if the remains were in a bag, or what they were found with.
Sweetwater has seen several new businesses in the past months, creating growth for the community and its economy. The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors honored Cornett Computer Repair with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at their office located at 204 E. Broadway. The office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lone Star Ag Credit will host a Chamber After Hours event from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at their office located at 400 E. Third Street.
The local office building was built in 1993 after merging with the Roby and Colorado City branches. Tim Weldon is the branch manager for both the Sweetwater and Abilene offices; four workers are employed with the Sweetwater branch.
The Sweetwater office works within Nolan, Scurry, Mitchell and Fisher counties, along with parts of Borden and Kent counties.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 36 calls for service, issued one citation and made no arrests on March 19, 2012.
The SPD received 18, 911 calls.
