A progress report on the Sweetwater Police Chief hiring process was given by City Manager Eddie Brown during the City Commission meeting on Tuesday morning, April 10, 2012 at City Hall.
Brown noted that interviews took place, beginning with 31 applicants. The top 10 applicants were then sent to the Texas Police Chief Association, who was asked to assist by scoring and rating the applications received.
At 3:38 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012, a man attempted to break into the Wes-T-Go convenience store, located at 209 Lamar Street in Sweetwater.
The third round of Texas Alumni Football for the area will be here in April, but this time, it will make dreams come true for many Roscoe alumni.
Former high school players from Roscoe have gathered to form a team and live out this dream. The dream? Playing a game of football at Cowboys Stadium.
The games are open to all alumni of the Roscoe Plowboys and the ages of the players will likely range from nineteen to mid-forties. The alumni team will play another alumni team from Commerce, a 3A school, northeast of Dallas.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 44 calls for service, issued 10 citations and made one arrest on April 10, 2012.
The SPD received 15, 911 calls.
