Children enjoy library magic

June 8, 2012

The Women of First Presbyterian Church Sweetwater made and donated plastic mats to the County-City Library. The mats are made out of plastic bags. The bags are cut and rolled into “plarn” plastic yarn and crocheted into mats. They began the project making mats for the homeless, but wanted to give locally. The mats will be used for the library’s story times. “We are very grateful for them thinking of an giving to the library,” said Becky Brock.
Pictured on one of the mats during a magic show at the library are Monica Valdez and her sons, Mason and Roman.
