Sweetwater Animal Control currently has four dogs available for adoption.
Available for adoption is a Labrador mix and a Pomeranian mix. According to Sweetwaterâs animal control officer, Don Kite, animals that are picked up are kept for a minimum of three days, but he tries to keep them from a week to 10 days.
Dogs and cats are available for adoption for a $15 fee and the cost of getting the pet vaccinated for rabies.
The pets are required to have their vaccination before they leave to their new homes.
The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 5 at Hoyt House, located at 1700 Hoyt Avenue.
Hoyt House is owned by Assisted Living Concepts, with Whitney Ashford as the on-site manager.
Hoyt House is an assisted living facility that offers the comforts of home with the added safety and security loved ones need. They provide nutritious meals three times a day, housekeeping and laundry, and now have a full-time RN. They serve Nolan County and have 16 employees.
A Labor Day event, âBurgers Buy the Pool,â was held on Monday, Sept. 3. The event was held as a fundraiser, hosted by JavaJax in Sweetwater, for the Nolan County Girl Scouts to help with their efforts in restoring the swimming pool at Camp Boothe Oaks.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, for a new barbecue restaurant in Roscoe, the Blackland Smokehouse.Â
The restaurant is located on the north side of Broadway in downtown Roscoe between The Wildflower Boutique and Memorial Park.
