The Seed Survivor Mobile Exhibit, a plant nutrient classroom on wheels, visited Roscoe ISD Tuesday morning. The exhibit is used to introduce the younger generation to the importance of agriculture production of food and fiber, which supplies our nation's needs to survive and exist. Seed Survivor is a free, curriculum-based learning experience that encourages children in grades 1 through 6 to master the elements that plants need to grow.
A pursuit involving a stolen vehicle and multiple law enforcement entities came to a conclusion on Monday afternoon at the intersection of Fisher and Avenue A.
According to Lieutenant Randy Hanes with the Sweetwater Police Department, the vehicle used in the pursuit was stolen on Sunday evening. Eventually, the vehicle was spotted by Officer Moses Campa, which started the pursuit.
The suspects made an effort to flee, in which Hanes explained that the pursuit became dangerous at one point. The vehicle was driven on the wrong side of the interstate for at least a mileâ€™s distance.
Nolan County recently received an award from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, which was acknowledged during Monday morning's meeting of the county commissioners.
Judge Tim Fambrough explained that the Leadership Circle - Gold Member award recognizes local government entities who are financially transparent. They set the example for others to follow by sharing their information in a user-friendly format, notably online.
County employees Judy Kaspar and Jeanne Wells were recognized for their work which led to the receiving of the award.
