Capstone-managed property 100% leased at Grand Opening
Join Sweetwater for a fun-filled day of shopping. This year's "Parade of Lights" will be at 6:30 p.m. this evening. The parade will start at Higginbotham's and end on Ash Street. Participating Chamber members will extend their hours until 8 p.m. for community members to shop Sweetwater. Participating businesses will have a box with Shop Sweetwater cards provided by the Chamber of Commerce. When you shop at any of the participating businesses have them stamp or sign your card. When you have five stamps/signatures, drop the card in one of the boxes.
The Pioneer City-County Museum will be having their annual Christmas Party on Thursday, Dec. 19, from 4:30-7 p.m. at 610 E. Third Street (Ragland House).
The party will be dedicated to Franzas Cupp to honor her more than 20 years of service.
Refreshments will be provided by Aroma's, Sweetwater High School Culinary Department and the Woman's Forum. The Pioneer Museum would like to thank Aroma's for the dessert and the Woman's Forum for all their help and invitations and food.
Several musicians put on a stellar performance at the Texas Theatre in Sweetwater on Saturday evening as part of Bob Livingston's Second Annual West Texas and Beyond Revue. Many attended the event and many danced in the aisles of the theatre as the musicians performed.
The Sweetwater High School Theatre Arts Department, along with several members of the community, performed Copelandâ€™s Christmas Carol this past weekend, accepting non-perishable food items, unwrapped toys and monetary donations as admission for charity.

Updates were heard on various topics by SEED (Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic Development) staff during the board of directors' meeting on Monday morning.
Ken Becker, the executive director of SEED, shared that the construction work by TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation) on Lamar Street was ahead of schedule. The earliest date mentioned for completion was the first part of this summer.
Today will be sunny with a high near 65. Winds will be from the west-southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
For the parade tonight, expect mostly clear skies, with a low around 36 and south-southwest winds around 5 mph.
