According to Pastor of the Word of God Church, Dale Stowe, the church is â€śgoing into the final phase of the vision that God has given for this ministry.â€ť
â€śThis ministry has always been focused on the vision of where God is taking us, said Stowe. â€śIt has never meant to be a churchy experience, it has always been a tool to allow the Holy Spirit to work in those who are called. Training your ears through the Word of truth to be able to hear God's small still voice so that we can be led by the Spirit of God.â€ť
Pictured are Sweetwater High School students Austin Watts, Joslynne Bohall, Whitnee Murff, Maty Montgomery, Laura Duclos, Destiny Neves, Amber Hernandez and Ashley Kincheloe. These students participated in the Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE).
Watts, Bohall, Montgomery, Duclos, Hernandez and Kincheloe all received Superior ratings. Hernandez advanced to the state level with two pieces and Duclos advanced with her self portrait.
Some facilities within Sweetwater ISD (Independent School District) have undergone renovations, as noted in the Superintendent's Report during the Monday night meeting of the SISD Board of Trustees.
Sweetwater ISD Superintendent Terry Pittman offered a visual presentation to board members of the recent changes seen around the district. The softball field now has a new press box, which will offer a new place for score keepers and media to be stationed.
Members of the 2012-2013 Future Sweetwater class went on a tour of Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital on Wednesday. The group is shown in the lobby at the admissions department, where the group began their tour.

The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 41 calls for service, issued one citation and made four arrests on Feb. 19, 2013.
The SPD received 24, 911 calls.

February is American Heart Month to observe this occasion Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital will be at the Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department (SNCHD), located at 301 E. 12th, on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. to offer free cholesterol screenings. There will be pamphlets and information available on cholesterol.
We'll see sunny skies today with a high near 62, but we'll also have windy conditions. Winds will be from the southwest at 25 to 30 mph, increasing to 30 to 35 mph in the morning. Patchy blowing dust is expected after 1 p.m. and gusts could be as high as 50 mph.
Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with a low around 29 and breezy. Winds from the west-southwest at 20 to 25 mph will change to northern winds at 10 to 15 mph in the evening. Gusts could top out at 30 mph.
