Several local churches will be coming together this week in order to reach out to the community.
This year's Sweetwater Outreach Week (SOW) will be held from Thursday, July 11 through Saturday, July 13. The purpose of the event is to offer needed assistance to homeowners by painting their house or mowing their lawn, free of charge.
There are, however, some prerequisites for a home to be considered. The homeowner must own the house (it cannot be a rental property), as well as be physically unable to meet these tasks.
This summer, the Sweetwater campus of TSTC (Texas State Technical College) West Texas, located at 300 Homer K. Taylor Drive, is offering Microsoft Office Short Courses. All of the courses will be offered in the Pevehouse Building in Room 210.
"Whether you currently work in an office environment that just upgraded to Microsoft Office 2010, or just want to learn the latest features of this software, the right kind of training is essential," said course organizers. "At TSTC West Texas, we offer a variety of courses on the latest version of this popular software package."
Sweetwater High School had another great six week period with 65 students making the A-Honor Roll, and Texas National Bank continued with its commitment to recognize and award one lucky scholar from each grade with $50. The winners of the Texas National Bank Good Grades Pay Award for the sixth six seeks were Mikeilah Foust (9th Grade), Corynn Martin (10th Grade), Micaela Reschman (11th Grade) and Sean Morrow (12thGrade).
