The Sweetwater Aglow team would like to invite you to our August meeting at the Holiday Inn Express on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. Ministering will be Noreen Carson. As a psalmist, worship leader and teacher, Noreen has touched the lives of many with an anointing peace that has brought physical and emotional healing and deliverances. She began her journey with the Holy Spirit at the age of 15.
Reserved season football tickets for the 2013 season will be up for renewal to current option holders beginning Thursday, August 8 through Friday, August 30.
Tickets may be purchased at the Sweetwater ISD Administration office. Tickets are $30 for five home games.
Reserved ticket sales for the general public will go on sale on Monday, Sept. 2 The last day to purchase season tickets will be Friday, Sept. 13. Tickets will be sold during regular business hours.

Verbal Judo! This month the Big Country Medical Reserve Corps will offer training conducted by Scott Davis, USAF Retired. Verbal Judo is a way of using words as a way to maintain mental and emotional safety. This kind of â€śconflict managementâ€ť involves using posture and body language, tone of voice and choice of words as a means for calming a potentially volatile situation before it can manifest into physical violence.
Highland Heights United Methodist Church recently consecrated a collection of school supplies for needy students in the second and third grades at the Sweetwater East Ridge Elementary campus. The school outreach ministry is one of several ministries that the church sponsors throughout the year.
Wal-Mart is supporting Sweetwater Independent School District in a unique way this weekend.
Friday through Sunday, they have asked for a Sweetwater ISD bus to be parked in front of Wal-Mart.Â They are adding a banner that says Fill the Bus for Our Kids.Â
They are encouraging people to buy school supplies and leave them on the bus for students at Sweetwater ISD. The supplies will be donated to each campus.
Last nightâ€™s thunderstorm in Sweetwater produced high winds that caused the destruction of a Sweetwater familyâ€™s home after the winds blew down their trailer on the corner of Coke and Louisiana.
Three people lived in the house but were not home at the time and no injuries were reported. William Lybarger says that his family has lived in the home for 10 years.
The trailer home was paid off, but the family had no insurance on the home. The familyâ€™s neighbors hope to set up a benefit bank account for the family.

This weekend, expect highs in the mid to upper 90s with lows in the mid 70s. Winds will vary throughout the weekend but will reach up to 15 mph.
