The Sweetwater Kiwanis Club hosted a Kids Swim Day on Thursday at the Sweetwater Municipal Pool. Admission for kids age 6-12 was free and pop-ices were given to all kids.

Various community groups are doing their part to support and care for the elderly of Sweetwater.
According to Melissa Regalado with the Sweetwater Housing Authority, staff members from Sweetwater Healthcare recently made a visit to the Jack Lambert apartments. The group provided a hamburger lunch to the residents, complete with fixings and side dishes.
Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the promotion of Eddie Gomez to Director of Laboratory.
Gomez will be replacing Walter Best who has been the Laboratory Director since 2009 and has chosen to step down from the director position and will continue in the lab as Chief Tech.
Gomez is a 1988 graduate of Sweetwater High School and graduated from Angelo State University in 1992 with a degree in Medical Technology and Chemistry. He worked at RPMH previously as a Med. Tech. from 1992 to 2001 and has most recently been working for Community Health System facilities.

The remediation of the Nolan County Courthouse faĂ§ade was discussed during the county commissioners' meeting held Monday afternoon.
Representatives from Turner Construction made the presentation, in which they noted that the information given was a continuation of sorts from last week's meeting. The previous meeting discussed the third floor C channel modifications, which included welding.
