On Tuesday night, June 11, 2013, at approximately 9:46 p.m., a jailer in the Nolan County Jail was performing routine duties in the main population area of the facility when the jailer was notified of an inmate that appeared to be in some form of medical distress. The inmate was in fact observed to be in distress and the jailer had emergency medical personnel notified immediately.
An ambulance and emergency medical personnel from the Sweetwater Fire Department were dispatched and jail personnel immediately began performing CPR life saving measures.
Five people were jailed on Tuesday after pleading true to revoking their probation during 32nd Judicial District Court.
Following continual negotiations, the Sweetwater City Commission approved a lease agreement on the Lake Sweetwater Bait Shop during their meeting held Tuesday morning at City Hall.
As stated by City Manager Eddie Brown at the meeting, the negotiations between G.M. Morgan, doing business as the Sweetwater Lake Marina, and the city continued after last month's regular meeting by request of the commissioners. Brown mentioned some of the amendments made to the agreement prior to its approval.

A partnership between Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Passenger Safety, Nolan County Extension Service, Sweetwater Fire Department, Stanley Ford, State Farm Insurance and the Texas Department of Transportation made for a successful child safety seat event in Sweetwater.

During the Nolan County Commissioners meeting on Monday morning, approval was given to replace seven outdated desktop computers in the county jail offices and upgrade other computers by using funds from the jail maintenance repairs budget.
Nolan County Sheriff David Warren made the presentation to the commissioners, in which he explained that the Your Way Computer Tech Team evaluated the computers. As previously mentioned in commissioners court, Microsoft will stop offering support to Windows XP by April 2014.
At the inaugural meeting of the Cline Shale Consortium, speakers gave presentations at McMurry University.
With the assistance of local company Shermco Industries, several local individuals including students from a local baseball travel team and one of their coaches and Shermco employee Josh Gilbert delivered trash bags, water, shovels, rakes, gloves, and also assisted in clean up of debris in Moore, Okla. after the town was devastated by a tornado. Students that went included Kaegan Jeffrey, J.P. Poe, Chris Figueroa, Bray Amos and Izzy McGee.
Raul Martinez Rodriguez, 28, of Roscoe, was arrested on Saturday evening after leading police officers on a pursuit after he allegedly fired shots at two people in a vehicle in Roscoe.
According to Roscoe Chief of Police Felix Pantoja, the Roscoe Police Department received a call about shots fired around 10:45 p.m. on Fourth and Cypress in Roscoe. Officers responded to the scene, but could not find the suspect, who was said to be driving a white Silverado.
