Representative Randy Neugebauer has been on a quick district tour this week â€” before ending up in Washington, D.C. this Friday â€” visiting many cities in the 19th Congressional District.
While visiting Sweetwater on Wednesday, the congressman took a moment to discuss how things are going for the community and also talked about the Farm Bill, the upcoming State of the Union address next week and Obamacare.
Texas State Technical College West Texas awarded T-STEM scholarships to 28 students. The recipients were awarded $550 for the spring 2014 semester. Two of the awardees are first-time college students, while four others are repeat recipients who received a T-STEM scholarship last semester. The recipients for this semester are enrolled in the Wind Energy and Turbine Technology, Emergency Medical Technology, Computer Aided-Drafting and Design, Computer Networking Systems and Administration and Computer Science and Database and Web Programming programs.
Sydni Jackson, Devin Gutierrez and Natalie Barela were selected byÂ their piano teacher, Noreen Carson, to performÂ on the Abilene Music Teachers Association's Honors Recital, an event featuring students from Abilene and the surrounding area selected by their teachers for their dedication, ability and preparation of memorized repertoire.
Sydni performed Lunar Eclipse by Faber, Devin performed Toccatina by Kabalevsky and Natalie performed Journey's End by Rocherolle.
