The March 4 primary election will be here before we know it, but several other deadlines are fast approaching.
At this time, voters can now start requesting a ballot by mail. However, the last day to register to vote is on Monday, Feb. 3.
The first day of early voting will be Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the County Clerk's office, which is located in the Nolan County Courthouse (100 East Third), Suite 108. The last day of early voting will be Friday, Feb. 28.
Several have recently entered pleas during 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings.
Zamadrick Drakkar Walker pleaded true to revoking his probation. He was originally put on probation for burglary of a habitation, a second degree felony. Walker was sentenced to four years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and was ordered to pay a $3,000 fine, $593 in court costs and $1,000 in attorney's fees. He will receive 153 days credit towards his sentence for time already served in jail.

AUSTIN â€” The Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) has nominated Amber L. James of Odessa and C. Barrett Thomas of Sweetwater as its next president-elect candidates. The winner of an election this spring will serve as TYLA president from June 2015 to June 2016. Results will be announced April 30.
James is a shareholder with the firm of Atkins, Hollmann, Jones, Peacock, Lewis, & Lyon in Odessa, where she maintains a commercial litigation practice. Prior to joining the firm, she practiced civil litigation with Sprott, Rigby, Newsom, Robbins, & Lunceford in Houston.
An update on the proposed Phase 4 project at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital was given at the Monday night meeting of the Nolan County Hospital District.
Phase Four would include renovation of the OR, ICU and construction of a new OB department and some additional improvements.
