The Nolan County Livestock Association will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Nolan County Coliseum. Anyone interested, along with all members, are encouraged to attend. If you would like to be added to the email list, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A two-year study of residential sales data was recently released by the Nolan County Board of Realtors, with a positive outlook on the local housing market.
In 2011, 50 houses were sold at a median price of $81,450, at $48,50 per square foot. On average, a house spent almost 112 days on the market.
The following year, 87 houses were sold and, on average, spent 100 days on the market. At $49.69 per square foot, the median price stood at $82,500.
Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital has announced some changes in the consulting doctors that are visiting from Abilene.
As of Wednesday, Jan. 8, Cardiology Consultants will be in Suite 3B, Building B.Â On Thursday, Jan. 9, Dr. Dickey, Orthopedist will be at the hospital and then Dr. Brandecker will be at RPMH on Jan. 22.Â
Hospital Administrator Donna Boatright would like the public to know where to go now that they will be in the renovated building.Â Hendrick Oncology will also be in the renovated building and dates are still being confirmed.
A flag raising ceremony was held this morning at the Nolan County Courthouse for Dawn Michelle Ainsworth, Electronics Technician Chief (Surface Warfare/Air Warfare). She is the daughter of Lana and Aubrey McCain and the granddaughter of Randolph W. Ballard. She has two sons, Brandon Ainsworth, 15 and Cameron Ainsworth, 10.
Ainsworth joined the U.S. Navy on April 20, 1994 and will be officially retired on April 30, 2014 after 20 years of service. A retirement ceremony will be held on Feb. 7, in Norfolk, Virginia.
The Sweetwater Cham-ber of Commerce will hold its monthly Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the Pioneer City-County Museum, located at 610 East Third Street.
The museum is owned by the City of Sweetwater and Nolan County, with Melonnie Hicks serving as the Museum Curator. The historical museum is available for group tours, luncheons, weddings, etc.
The Pioneer City-County Museum was established by the Nolan County Foundation. The facility serves all of Nolan County and has two employees.
