Best-selling author Pamela Fagan Hutchins, along with her husband Eric, visited the County-City Library yesterday to discuss her book Saving Grace during the Let's Talk Books monthly book club meeting.
Hutchins is an employment attorney and workplace investigator when she is not writing women's fiction mysteries and humorous nonfiction.

Former editor dies at age 90

Lt. Col. Ret. Charles William "Larry" Lawrence, Sr., 90, of Sweetwater died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
Known to many as "Colonel Larry" Lawrence was editor at the Sweetwater Reporter from 1957-1960, also serving at several other newspapers. He is most know for his military service and military coverage as a newspaperman.

Man jailed for sexual assault

Several have recently entered pleas during 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings.
Gary Lynn Thomas pleaded guilty to sexual assault, a second degree felony. Thomas was sentenced to eight years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and was also ordered to pay a $500 fine, $782 in court costs and $2,100 in attorney's fees. He will also have to register as a sex offender. Thomas will receive 292 days credit towards his sentence for time already served in jail.
