Allsupâ€™s officially opened for business on Wednesday morning in Sweetwater with many coming in to the store throughout the day, especially to try Allsupâ€™s famous beef and bean burritos.
Five years ago, a local event was started to raise awareness and money to benefit the visually impaired children in the community. This year, the "Ridin' for Cash Bull Bash" is once again gearing up and will take place Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Nolan County Coliseum. The "Bull Bash" was incepted by Matt and Annie Miles, whose oldest son Laramie Cash Miles was born with Septo-Optic Nerve Dysplasia. A person with this condition has a minimized optic nerve which prohibits the transfer of information from his eyes to his brain to process, resulting in blindness.
Various projects were discussed as part of the City Manager's report given by Eddie Brown during Tuesday's City Commission meeting.
TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation) plans to re-stripe Broadway, which will cause the east-bound left lane to become a left turning lane onto Loop 1544. Thus, the right-hand, west-bound traffic on Broadway will turn right onto Loop 1544.
Today will be sunny with a high near 69. Winds will be from the south-southwest at 5 to 10 mph, becoming north-northwest in the afternoon.
Expect partly cloudy conditions tonight, with a low around 40 and northern winds at 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest after midnight.
