A woman was flown to a Lubbock hospital with burns to her face and arms and is in stable condition after a faulty gas line caused a fire in her home on Sunday morning, according to emergency officials.
The fire started around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday on the 300 block of W. Texas in Sweetwater.
The Texas State Technical College West Texas LVN to RN program has received full approval from the Texas Board of Nursing. TSTC West Texas launched the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program in 2007. Since then, more than 120 students have graduated and are helping combat the nursing shortage in the West Texas region.
After an extraordinary reception at an event last month, Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital (RPMH) has announced a special information and signup clinic on Wednesday, Feb. 12, to help locals comply with federal laws. âWeâve received many calls over the last couple of weeks with members of our community requesting that we hold another event on healthcare reform and how to get covered,â explained Donna Boatright, administrator of RPMH.

Hospital demonstrates commitment to career advancement and patient experience with recent staff appointments
As Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital (RPMH) continues to keep up with changes in the healthcare industry, the local healthcare provider has announced that they have filled two key positions within the organization.
Ame Monroe has been appointed director of human resources. A 15-year veteran at the hospital, Monroe will leverage her expertise to advance the department and support RPMH team members through HR duties.
The goal of Cornerstone Christian School is to lay a foundation for children ages one through eight educationally, spiritually, socially and emotionally. And in order to attain those goals, the second annual "Beat the Street for Little Feet" will help raise money for the school--which will go toward program enhancement and scholarships, as well as allow families an opportunity to get physically active.
The event will involve a 5K run, a 50K bike tour, and a one-mile fun run, which will be held on Saturday, April 26 starting at 8 a.m. Each race will cost $25 per individual.

February is American Heart Month, to observe this occasion Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital will be at the Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department (SNCHD), located at 301 E. 12th, on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to offer free cholesterol screening. There will be pamphlets and information available on cholesterol. Â
The health department will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17, for Presidentâs Day.
The CCD students at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish had a diaper drive during the advent season.
They collected 72 packages of diapers, 22 packages of baby wipes, several baby items and the seventh graders collected $246.86 in baby bottles that the Abilene Deanery provided to them. Most of the items were donated to the Pregnancy Resource Center in Abilene and some items are being kept at the church for any mother in need.
