Thursday was a special day for KXOX radio in Sweetwater, as the station hit a new milestone: 75 years of local broadcasting.

The Sweetwater High School Auditorium was glowing on Thursday evening during the black out community pep rally. Many members of the community attended to cheer on the Sweetwater Mustangs on their way to their second playoff game in Stephenville on Friday.
On Saturday, November 22, the Second Annual Creative Country Crafts Show will be held at the Nolan Community Center in downtown Nolan from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be crochet items, woodworking, jewelry, homemade goodies, wall hangings and much more.

Also, the Dark Horse Roller Derby will have a Thanksgiving smash-up at the Nolan County Coliseum Annex.
Today will be partly sunny with a high near 69. Winds will be from the south at 5 to 10 mph.
Expect mostly cloudy skies tonight, with a low around 55 and winds from the south-southeast at 5 to 10 mph. After midnight, we'll have a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Those rain chances will increase to 80% on Saturday but fade out by the evening. Weekend highs will be in the mid-60s, with lows in the upper 40s dropping down to the upper 30s by Sunday night.

Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital (RPMH) reminds Nolan County residents that a great time to quit smoking is during the "Great American Smokeout", Thursday, Nov. 20, according to Donna Boatright, administrator of the hospital
"The 'Smokeout' is a good-natured effort by the American Cancer Society to encourage smokers to give up their cigarettes for one day," Boatright said. "If smokers see they can quit for 24 hours, they may quit forever."
The True Texan Award is a quarterly award given to team members at Texas National Bank who take pride in their work, do whatâ€™s best for the team and always put the customer first. Award recipients are given an extra paid day of vacation and a small cash prize. The True Texans for the third quarter 2014 are Deadra Kelley (left) and Kathy Staggs (right).
Police are on the lookout for Timothy Cantu, 20, of Sweetwater.
According to officers with the Sweetwater Police Department, Cantu was identified as the passenger of a vehicle during a routine traffic stop Wednesday morning before fleeing the scene.
Officers gave chase to Cantu and several law enforcement agencies including the Sweetwater P.D., the Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO), Texas Dept. of Public Safety and the 32nd Judicial District set up a perimeter around a field near Alabama and Throckmorton.
The Sweetwater Texas Theatre Acquisition & Renovation (STTAR) board of directors announces the Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium as the location for this yearâ€™s Third Annual West Texas & Beyond Revue, hosted by Texas Music Ambassador Bob Livingston. The live music extravaganza will be held on Saturday evening, Nov. 22.

Sweetwater High School announced that the students will try to collect more than 1,000 cans for the 2014 Sweetwater Goodfellows Canned Food Drive. The school effort is being spearheaded by teacher Jamie Ince.
