Today, November 6, the Rolling Plains Unit of Retired School Personnel will hold its monthly meeting at Bee's Flowers and Gifts, at 311 Oak Street, for lunch at 11:30 a.m.
A program and a short business meeting will follow. Zach Wilcox, the Nolan County Agriculture Extension Agent, will speak. All retired school personnel are invited to attend.

Also, the Republican Women of West Texas will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the TJB Outdoor building on Lamar Street.
Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 69. Winds will be from the east-northeast around 10 mph.

As press time today, it appears Whitley May has emerged victorious in his race to become the new Nolan County Judge.
On Tuesday night, May defeated City Attorney Peter F. Sheridan by only three votes (1,312-1,309) for Nolan County Judge in the most hotly contested local race of the evening.

The expanded Kids On the Land (KOL) program at the Dickson Family 69 Ranch near Maryneal was attended by over 200 third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade students from Roscoe, Blackwell and Highland schools. The KOL programs brings students out on the land to learn about the place where they live. Many local volunteers joined the experienced leaders of KOL events to help the students learn more about their Rolling Plains eco-region.
