The Women's Forum of Sweetwater sponsors Library Tag Day each year to benefit the County-City Library. This year the event took place on Wednesday, April 2, with all proceeds going to the library.
The total amount raised was 7,388.58. Donations come from local businesses, civic groups and individuals wanting to keep the local library growing and thriving.
National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) is an annual observance to highlight the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrate the achievements of immunization programs in promoting healthy communities. This yearâ€™s NIIW is April 26-May 3. Infants are particularly vulnerable to infectious diseases; that is why it is critical to protect them through immunizations. Each day, nearly 12,000 babies are born in the United States who will need to be immunized against 14-vaccine-preventable diseases before age two.

USA Rail Terminals announces the planned opening of â€śEskota Road Rail Terminalâ€ť located to serve the Cline Shale, Wolfcamp and the Eastern Shelf of the Permian Basin. It is the only rail terminal location in west Texas that has the unique capability of accessing two Class 1 railroads, the BNSF and the UP. Located five miles east of Sweetwater and north of Interstate 20 on Eskota Road, this location is one of a kind for west Texas. Phase 1 will include some five miles of new track with additional track being added in later phases.
The Sweetwater Choral Booster Club will have a car wash fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at Mustang Car Wash, located at 1351 Hailey Street. A full service detail and wash will be provided.
All proceeds will benefit the Sweetwater Middle School and Sweetwater High School choirs for their upcoming festival trips.

The Nolan County United Way's Charles Roberson Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at the Sweetwater Country Club.
The tournament will benefit Nolan County United Way's nine local agencies: Big Country Medical Reserve Corps, Boy Scouts, Cancer Services Network, Gateway Family Services, Girl Scouts, SNAP, Sweetwater BackPack Buddies, West Texas Children's Advocacy Center and Women's Resource Center.
Pre-registration fees are $200 per team or $50 per individual. The cost to register at the tournament will be $240 and $55, respectively.
