Several girls from Sweetwater Middle School and Sweetwater High School attended the Texas State Technical College (TSTC) Blossom Conference at TSTC Sweetwater. The day consisted of a message from speaker, Elizabeth McCormick, a Black Hawk Helicopter Pilot, teambuilding activities and science and math activities.

While summer hasn't officially started, summer-like temperatures have been around for several weeks now. And what better way is there to cool off than a trip to the city pool?
The Community Captains of Sweetwater, along with the 32nd Judicial Bar Association, will be hosting a Juneteenth Basketball Tournament Fundraiser on Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21, at both Sweetwater Middle School gyms. The tournament will be five on five style with three divisions: 18 and under (boys), 18 and under (girls), and adults.
Twisted T Liquor and Gifts recently hosted a Grand Opening of their store with free hot dogs, door prizes and tastings as part of the event.

Lanore Rakes, a resident of Nolan Nursing and Rehab donated two of her drawings to raise money for a favorite activity.
The drawings were part of a silent auction to raise funds for an upcoming Elvis Tribute concert by tribute artist Harvey McFadden.

Several entered pleas during 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings this week.
Juan Martin Jaramillo pleaded guilty to sex offender duty to register, a second degree felony. He was sentenced to 15 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice with 77 days credit towards his sentence for time already served in jail. He was also ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, $348 in court costs and $500 in attorney's fees.
The Holy Spirit Catholic Parish Council will have a steak dinner fundraiser on Saturday, June 7, starting at 6 p.m. The steak dinner will consist of sirloin steak, baked potato, salad, bread and tea.
Adults will be $10Â and children under 12 will be $5. All proceeds will go to the Holy Spirit Parish.
