Andrea Croan joined the Sweetwater Reporter's circulation department back in March, just after the Rattlesnake Round-Up and has been a welcome addition to the newspaper family. Born and raised in Sweetwater, Croan lives here with her four children â€” Racheal, 16; Dylan, 15; Katelyn, 8; and William, 2.

The American Cancer Society Bark For Life event will take place this week in Sweetwater. The canine event to fight cancer will help those affected by cancer to celebrate, remember and bark back.
From 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Newman Park in Sweetwater, dogs and their owners can partake in several activities, with all proceeds to benefit Nolan County Relay For Life.
Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital was recently presented hand drawn coloring books by Cub Scout Pack 146 to be given to hospitalized pediatric patients. The Scouts are sponsored by 4th and Elm Church of Christ.

The 2012-2013 Teacher of the Year for Sweetwater High School is Christi Adams. She teaches AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) for students in all grades, serves as the varsity boys and girls cross country coach, and is also the junior varsity boys and girls tennis coach.

The second annual Teen Book Club will meet at the County-City Library Monday, July 22 at 12:30 p.m. for a pizza party. The book selected is â€śSpeakâ€ť by Laurie Halse Anderson. The Teen Book Club will watch the movie â€śSpeakâ€ť based off the book they selected. Call 235-4978 for more information.
Mustang Moms will be holding weekly meetings on Mondays at 6 p.m. in the Sweetwater High School fieldhouse. Every mom is needed and every mom is welcome.
A volleyball camp will be held July 22-25 at the Sweetwater Middle School gym for students who have completed grades 3-8. The camp will be from held from 9-11:45 a.m. each day. The cost includes a T-shirt. Pre-registration is appreciated. A concession stand will be available. The goal is to improve playersâ€™ skills in volleyball for the upcoming season with instruction through games and fun team competitions.
A Mustang Football Camp will be held July 22-25 at Mustang Bowl from 7:30-10:30 a.m. daily for students entering grades 3-9. All campers will receive individual instruction from members of the Mustang coaching staff. The camp will place emphasis on skills and drills and will also have both punt, pass and kick instruction and competitions. There will be refreshments, T-shirts and certificates.
