Thousands attended the 55th Annual Sweetwater Jaycees World's Largest Rattlesnake Round-Up.
The total pounds of Western Diamondback Rattlesnake weighed totaled 2,361 pounds, an increase from last year's total of 1,664 pounds. Those bringing in the most pounds of rattlesnake were first place Andy Lee with 382 pounds, second place Herbert Hoover with 223 pounds, third place the Cliffseekers with 221 pounds, fourth place Bill Stinson with 136 pounds and fifth place Eric Timaeus with 216 pounds. The longest rattlesnake was caught by Daryl and Kathleen McIntire and measured 78 inches long.
Today will be sunny with a high near 67. Winds will be from the west-southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Expect clear skies tonight with a low around 42 and southern winds at 10 to 15 mph.

Kyndra Vaught, 2013 Miss Snake Charmer, performed â€śSuds in the Bucketâ€ť at the Nolan County Coliseum on Friday for those attending the 55th Annual Sweetwater Jaycees Worldâ€™s Largest Rattlesnake Round-Up.
Sweetwater High School had another great six week period with 64 students making the All-A Honor Roll and Texas National Bank continued with its commitment to recognize and award one lucky scholar from each grade with $50. The winners of the Texas National Bank Good Grades Pay Award for the fourth six seeks were Ashley Sifford (ninth grade), Madison Jones (10th grade), Daven Alvarez (11th grade) and Madison Meneses (12th grade).
