What treasures are stashed around Sweetwater? We are about to find out. The Treasure Hunters Roadshow is on a world-wide treasure hunt and will be digging in town for five days. During this free event, the Treasure Hunters are expecting to see over 1,200 residents bringing in their rare and unusual collectibles! Locals will have a chance to talk to world-renowned antique and collectible experts, and it’s all free!
A rain report was released for the latest rainfall receives by Nolan County on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011.
According to the report, Lake Trammell received no rain while Oak Creek receives 0.20 inches of rain and Lake Sweetwater received 0.15 inches of rain. The filter plant received 0.44 inches of rain. Booster B, the wastewater plant, well field p.s. and CR 151 received no rain.

As these series of articles comes to an end, the Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department (SNCHD) cannot emphasis again how important vaccines are to prevent diseases and the importance of keeping track of the vaccines a person has received.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 127 calls for service, issued two citations and made two arrests from Aug. 26-28, 2011.
The SPD received 89, 911 calls.
Accidents:
• 200 block of Alexander.
Calls for service:
• Identity theft — 200 block of E. 4th.
• Family violence assault — 1500 block of Hughes.
• Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon — 1700 block of Hailey.
• Burglary of a vehicle — 1500 block of Campbell.
• Criminal mischief — 1500 block of McCauley.
• Burglary of a building — 600 block of Lamar.

Crane Service, Inc. of Sweetwater recently introduced the GMK 7550, a 550-ton crane. The local business welcomed the huge addition in its continued efforts to offer a wide range of services. The crane was on location for the community to view in Sweetwater during an open house event on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011.
For the past 51 years, Crane Service has specialized in rigging along with heavy hoisting and hauling to the greater Southwest region of the United States.
At about 7:58 p.m. Saturday evening, Aug. 27, 2011, Texas Highway Patrolman Ricardo Molina attempted to stop a 1994 Buick for traffic violations which occurred five miles east of Colorado City on IH-20 in Mitchell County.

Sunday was have been the 14th birthday for the missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn.
On Saturday dozens of people gathered to commemorate her birthday and remember her disappearance.
Saturday marked eight months since she was reported missing.
Hailey's mother Billie Dunn was in attendance and had harsh words for law enforcement officials in charge of the investigation.
"They need to get out there and find my daughter," Dunn said.
United States Gypsum announced the retirement of Doyle Clemmer, Quarry Equipment Operator, after 41 years of service. Doyle selected a flat screen TV and a new phone as his retirement gifts. "The employees of the Sweetwater Plant would like to thank Doyle for his years of dedicated service, his personal commitment to safety and for his impact on the outstanding achievements of our plant over the years. We wish you the best in your future endeavors."

The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 34 calls for service, issued no citations and made no arrests on Aug. 25, 2011.
The SPD received 23, 911 calls.
Calls for service:
• Credit card abuse — Sweetwater area.
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had eight calls for service, served three civil papers and made one arrest on Aug. 25, 2011.
Arrested by NCSO:
• Mike Ramirez Carrasco, Jr., 30, of Temple — Warrants/motion to revoke probation and violation of parole.
Calls for service:
• Stray livestock — CR 181.
• Vehicle fire — I-20 MM 250 east bound.
The Sweetwater Mustang Band is in full force this football season, playing at the first football game of the season at Sweetwater’s Mustang Bowl. Shown above is the brass section during halftime of the game.
