The National WASP WWII Museum Board of Directors will host a celebration of the arrival of the 1940 Boeing Stearman PT-17 at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at the WASP Museum on Avenger Field Road; wine, cheese and refreshments will be served.

Tomorrow--on Tuesday, November 6, droves of people across the city, state and nation will head to their local polling places to vote government officials into office in the general election. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
On the national front, it seems as if the race for President--between Republican candidate Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama--is a dead heat. Both candidates and their respective running mates, Paul Ryan and Vice President Joe Biden, are making their final pitches leading up to Election Night.
On Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, the keen observation of two Nolan County citizens assisted the Nolan County Sheriff's Office in solving a theft that occurred in the 4100 block of CR 117 in Nolan County.
Sweetwater Woman's Forum is again â€” for the third year â€” selling tickets for a $500 holiday shopping spree. The $500 will be given away at the Annual Christmas Craft Show at the Nolan County Coliseum Annex at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012.
This year's money will be used to help with the fund for the repairs of the swimming pool at Camp Booth Oaks. The Woman's Forum's two main yearly projects are for the Pioneer Museum and the County-City Library that comes from the Tour of Homes and Library Tag Day.
The Radiology Department at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital would like to acknowledge Carla Wilkinson who recently passed her ARDMS (American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) exam in Abdominal Ultrasound. Wilkinson has been with RPMH for the past 10 years.

Also, on Oct. 5, 2012, Andra Barton graduated from Hendrick Medical School of Radiography. She graduated as Valedictorian with a 4.0 grade point average.

The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 40 calls for service, issued no citations and made seven arrests on Nov. 1, 2012.

The Nolan County United Way (NCUW) is committed to serving local entities with a yearly campaign. This year's focus is "Give Where You Live".
The NCUW is a local organization that runs solely on pledges, led by a board of volunteers throughout the community who desire to impact the caring power of the community. Wendy Smartt serves as the group's Executive Director.
Donors to the Nolan County United Way can give a one-time donation through a payroll deduction or a quarterly basis, which allows the organization to impact thousands within the community through the nine agencies supported.
