The West Texas Art Guild is sponsoring a Children's Art Show at the County-City Library for the month of March. The show will be divided into five age groups as follows: Ages 3-5; ages 6-8; ages 9-11; ages 12-14; and ages 15-18.
The name and age of the child must be attached to the back of the artwork.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 149 calls for service, issued 15 citations and made 11 arrests from Feb. 22-24, 2013.
The SPD received 55, 911 calls.

ABILENE â€” One of the few blemishes on the Highland girls basketball team's outstanding season came in the title game of Highland's tournament in early December when the Lady Hornets lost to Garden City, 31-24.
Highland got a chance Saturday afternoon to avenge that loss in a rematch with Garden City for the Region II-A, Division II championship.
And this time, it was the Lady Kats who were left feeling blue.
Highland (31-4) answered every challenge en route to a 47-29 victory at Abilene Christian University, advancing the Lady Hornets to the Class 1A, Division II state semifinals.
During the Monday night meeting of the Sweetwater ISD (Independent School District) Board of Trustees, a campus report was given on J.P. Cowen Early Childhood Center.
Crystal Meneses, the principal of the school, began the presentation with the assistance of three students from the campus: Ryan Roberson, Rhylie Underwood and Owen Huckabee. They demonstrated to board members the different breathing techniques that are done at the school.

The Sweetwater Young Guns 11-and-under travel team won the championship at the Midland Winter Blast tournament, a Global Sports World Series Qualifier event which was played on Feb. 16-17 as part of Texas USSSA Baseball. The Highland girls basketball team celebrated on Friday after their 55-37 victory over Baird that advanced the Lady Hornets to the Region II-A, D-II final against Garden City on Saturday. Fridayâ€™s win put Highland within one game of advancing to Austin to play in the state tournament later this week. A story on Fridayâ€™s game is on Page A6. 2013 Media Day for the Sweetwater Jaycees World's Largest Rattlesnake Round-Up was held on Friday, at the local Fortin Ranch. The Miss Snake Charmer Pageant contestants beheaded and skinned Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes and members of the Sweetwater Jaycees gave demonstrations about the snakes including safety tips when coming into contact with the snakes. The Miss Snake Charmer Scholarship Pageant will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 7. The Sweetwater Jaycees Worldâ€™s Largest Rattlesnake Round-Up will be from Friday, March 8 through Sunday, March 10.
