According to Sweetwater's Public Works Director, Ray Adames, the waterways are cleaned on a regular basis so that water flows through smoothly with no backup. Due to the lack of rain this season, city workers were able to move heavy equipment into the waterways for cleaning, as opposed to manually removing debris when there is water is the drainage ways. Shown is the waterway near Towncreek and Alabama being cleaned by city workers.
