And tonight, a community pep rally will take place for the Sweetwater Mustangs and Lady Mustangs as they are playoff bound. The pep rally will take place at the Nolan County Courthouse with the Pop Sensations performing at 7:30 p.m. and the pep rally beginning at 8 p.m.
Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 36. Winds will be breezy with a north-northeast wind at 15 to 20 mph, making chill values between 10 and 20.
Expect mostly cloudy skies tonight, with a low around 21 and north-northeast winds remaining around 15 mph. Wind chill values could range between 8 and 18.

On Nov. 10, 2014, a group of Sweetwater ISD sponsors and administrators were walking the square just north of the Nolan County Courthouse in preparation for the community-wide pep rally on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Community member, Beth Maxwell said, "It's great to see them prepare for a special event like our community pep rally. We are proud of the Sweetwater teams and want to show our appreciation at the pep rally."
Sweetwater VFW Post 2479 hosted its annual flag raising ceremonies this morning at 7 a.m. Shown are members of the Nolan County Honor Guard Tommy Millett, Lionel Mendez and Richard Posey and bugler Billy Weems during the ceremony.

Ricky Cunningham, Brookshire's store director, presented Peggy Parrott (center) and Madison Black of the West Texas Children's Advocacy Center a $2,000 check Monday as part of a company-wide fundraising project.
Today, November 11, Sweetwater American Legion Auxiliary Unit #109 will be distributing poppies at K-Mart from 9 a.m. until noon.
Proceeds from the donations for the poppies are used for rehabilitation and welfare programs for veterans. The poppies are made by hospitalized and disabled veterans.
Also, the 10th annual KXOX Veterans Shout-Out will air from 1-4 p.m. with host Kyle Davian. It will include patriotic shout-outs, music and information on help sources and volunteer opportunities.

Nolan County will be well represented when the Texas high school football playoffs begin this week.
All four county schools are participating. Sweetwater and Roscoe will both have games Thursday, and Highland and Blackwell are set to have their bi-district games Friday.
