Sweetwater police officers responded early Sunday morning to a family dispute at the 1200 block of Avondale Boulevard, where they found one man with a gun shot wound to the foot.

The Community Captains hosted a toy drive at the local K-Mart. With the generous donations from the community, they were able to provide a family of eight with a Christmas and toys for the local CPS office.
Today, January 8, Story Hour at the County-City Library for parents and their children will be at 10:45 a.m.

A sendoff for Rep. Susan King, whose District 71 includes Nolan County, was held Tuesday at the Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce.
King talked to several community leaders about her plans for the upcoming legislative session in Austin. "You will see a lot of hype about this session coming forth," she said of the 84th Legislature, which begins Jan. 13.
