Fannie Louise Weston was born on August 10, 1926 in Pearsol, Texas, to Robert and Clara Forester. In 1938, she moved to Alpine, Texas, where she eventually met and married Billie Weston, on August 29, 1943. Fannie and Billie lived in the Fort Davis/Alpine area where they ranched and owned and operated Camp Musquiz, a summer camp for boys and girls. As well as being involved in the day to day operations of the camp, Fannie worked at the FNB in Alpine for 37 years. In 2000, they moved to San Angelo, Texas and then on to Sweetwater, in 2008.
Eurita Fay âRitaâ Rieger, 76, of Maryneal, Texas passed away on Nov. 15, 2010 at her home. She was born January 16,1934 in Palestine, Texas. She married Wayne Rieger on July 6, 1952 in Palestine, Texas.
Survivors include her son, Paul Rieger and wife Debbie of Big Spring, Texas; daughters, Ada Jackson of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Paulia Sacket and husband Rick of Temple, Texas; one sister, Anita Wylie of Palestine, Texas; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Sarah Frances Jones, 80, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Jerry Payne and Rev. Don Casper officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Taylor Cemetery near Lampasas. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Jones died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Trent â Dr. Johnie Dow Starkey, Professor Emeritus, Northern Illinois University went to join the Lord Thursday morning, Nov. 11, 2010.Â A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14, at the Trent United Methodist Church, 226 N. Mesquite in Trent, TX, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.Â
Memorial service for Clarence David Scobey will be held on Nov. 18, 2010 at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church. First Baptist Church is located at 213 East. 3rd.
William Don Witherspoon went to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 10, 2010. He is preceeded in death by Dorris Virginia Witherspoon. He was 80 years old.
Survivors include his brother, Gene Witherspoon and wife Patricia of Bella Vista, AR, son Doak and wife Lydia of Frisco, TX, Dane of Cleburne, Tracy Schaeffer from Denver, CO., son Tracy and wife Angela from Lubbock, TX, daughter DâAnn Harris and husband Britt from Loveland, CO., seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren and twin boys on the way.
Frances R. Smith, 85, of Sweetwater, passed away, on Tuesday November 9, 2010 at Stonecrest Assisted Living. She was born on April 5, 1925 in Rayville, Lousiana. She married J H Smith on March 25, 1948, in Houston, Texas.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Walker and husband David of Sweetwater; her sister, Alma Wooderson of Alvin; her grandaughter, Ashley Walker of Sweetwater and two grandsons, Brad Walker of Austin and Michael Smith of Houston.
Alfredo Bobby Pedro Diaz III, three months, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Rolling Plains Hospital in Sweetwater. He was born on August 15, 2010 in Sweetwater, to Rosalinda Guerrero and Alfredo Bobby Diaz II.
Survivors include his mother Rosalinda Guerrero and father Alfredo Bobby Diaz II, of Sweetwater; maternal grandparents Janie and Pedro P. Mermella; paternal grandparents, Alfred Diaz and Donna Medrano of Midland, Texas; paternal great-grandmother Belen Acosta of Sweetwater.
Paulo M. Lopez, age 79, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Paulo was born Feb. 13, 1931 in Rocksprings, Texas. He married Ysabel Gomez on March 4, 1948 in Sweetwater, Texas. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He worked for U.S. G. for forty years as a production operator before retiring.
HALTOM CITY â Jerry Dee Miller, 69, passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Home.
