James William Mardis, 72, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, with the Reverends Jerry Payne and Keith Clifton officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, 401 E. 3rd Street in Sweetwater.
James was born Oct. 29, 1938, in Fisher County, Texas, to James and Effie Lucille Mardis. On Aug. 27, 1956, he married Barbara E. Thompson in Busby, Texas.
