Archie J. Hunter – Husband, daddy, papa, veteran, plowboy went to be with the Lord on Oct. 13, 2011. Archie was born May 27, 1932, to Harvid and Bertha Hunter. He graduated from Roscoe High School and attended UT Arlington on a football scholarship. He then served in the U.S. Army and played on the all Army team with Heisman Trophy winner Billy Vessels. He met and married Sherry L. Hunter while stationed at Fort Sill, OK, on Feb. 25, 1956, and loved her all his life. He then returned to college at Hardin Simmons University and was a star player for football great Coach Sammy Baugh.
