Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Maria M. Guerrero, 87, of Gail, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Joe Uecker officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 23, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, recited by Connie Palacios and Pauline Gauna.
Jewel F. Campbell, age 90, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Robert Squires officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Jewel was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Bartlett, Texas to John and Hulda (Hightower) Stone. She married C.H. Campbell on Aug. 26, 1939, in Roby, Texas. She was a Baptist. She worked as a waitress for many restaurants including Waffle Shop, and Jordan’s.
ROSCOE — Patricia Jean “Pat” Karonika was born Oct. 30, 1947, in Houston, Texas. She attended schools in LaGrange, Texas and Roscoe, Texas. She has been a resident of Abilene since 1967. She had worked for HEB for several years and served on the advisory board of the Betty Hardwick Center. She had been a participant of Special Olympics and received several trophies for bowling. She was attending Sears Senior Center and was a volunteer until a decline in her health.
