Wayne V. McDonald
A graveside service for Wayne V. McDonald, 80, of Sweetwater, will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Huron Valley Cemetery in Flat Rock, Mich. under the direction of Ford Chapel Funeral Home. Local arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Ford Chapel Funeral Home in Rockwood, Michigan.
McDonald died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at his residence in Sweetwater.

Margaret Evelyn Hiscock Adams, 86, of Abilene, Texas passed away on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at her home.
October 14th
Archie J. Hunter â Husband, daddy, papa, veteran, plowboy went to be with the Lord on Oct. 13, 2011. Archie was born May 27, 1932, to Harvid and Bertha Hunter. He graduated from Roscoe High School and attended UT Arlington on a football scholarship. He then served in the U.S. Army and played on the all Army team with Heisman Trophy winner Billy Vessels. He met and married Sherry L. Hunter while stationed at Fort Sill, OK, on Feb. 25, 1956, and loved her all his life. He then returned to college at Hardin Simmons University and was a star player for football great Coach Sammy Baugh.

Funeral services for Cora Lee Jernigan, 85, of Abilene and formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Jernigan died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, in Abilene.
Funeral services for John "Juan" Lopez, 61, of Sweetwater, will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Oct. 16, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Deacon Bill Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, recited by Pauline Gauna.
Lopez died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.
Funeral services for Martha Ruth Light, 96, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at the Roscoe Church of Christ with Dan Boren and Doug Crum officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation was held Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, from 6-8 p.m., at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Light died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.

James William Mardis, 72, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, with the Reverends Jerry Payne and Keith Clifton officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, 401 E. 3rd Street in Sweetwater.
James was born Oct. 29, 1938, in Fisher County, Texas, to James and Effie Lucille Mardis. On Aug. 27, 1956, he married Barbara E. Thompson in Busby, Texas.

The most important thing I could leave my loved ones and friends, if it were within my power, which it is not, would be faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Although that is within the power of the Creator and Lord God of the universe alone to give, I would urge all my family and friends, if they have not done so already, to flee to the Savior in repentance and faith. Let my death be an occasion of reminder that life is short. Do not wait until it is too late. May God grant you grace to do so.
ROTAN - Madilene (Kiker) Murphree, 85, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at her residence in Hamlin. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Hamlin with Bro. Donny Harbers officiating and burial in Cottonwood Cemetery at Rough Creek. Arrangements are with Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.

Myrtie Bredemeyer Ware
Myrtie Bredemeyer Ware, age 87, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011 at Hendrick Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 at Highland Heights United Methodist Church in Sweetwater, Texas with Rev. James Baker and Rev. Chris Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
