Bennia Rackley Carter, age 49, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 at her residence.
Her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Bennia was born on Jan. 4, 1962, in Lubbock, Texas. She married Brian K. Carter on Feb. 27, 1997, in DeSoto, Texas.
Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, Ena Joyce Chipman completed her long and fruitful journey as wife, mother and mentor.Â Born Feb. 22, 1929, to V. L. and Ena Inez Elliott in Sweetwater, she grew up in West Texas, graduating in 1946 from Sweetwaterâs Newman High School.Â Matriculating at Hardin-Simmons University, she subsequently, in 1948, met and married Stanley D. Chipman. In the following years, she established a home, produced three children and completed baccalaureate and masterâs degrees.
Joyce Harris, 82, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at her residence.Â The family will receive friends from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.Â Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Myers & Smith Chapel with Rev. Don Snipes, officiating.Â Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. at the Sweetwater Cemetery.
Toad was born March 22, 1925 to Lou and Elinor Estes Monroe. He was the fourth child born of 10 from Nolan, Texas. Toad married Sadie Jewel Perry on May 31, 1947 in Nolan, Texas. They moved to Sweetwater in 1951 where they built their home. He passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. Toad worked in the oil field for over 30 years as a heavy equipment operator and had worked for Britt Construction and T&R Oilfield Construction, where he retired at the age of 70.
Funeral services for R.J. âToadâ Monroe, 86, of Sweetwater, are pending with McCoy Funeral Home.
Monroe died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Julian Lopez Reyes, 78, of Colorado City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Mitchell County Hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at Saint Annâs Catholic Church. Father Michael Udegbunam will officiate. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Louella Byrne Hall lost her long fight with cancer Nov. 4, 2011; she is at peace with her lord and Savior. Louella was 88 years, 25 days young, she was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Mertzon, Texas, to Lottie Stedham Davenport where she lived till moving to Mitchell County. She joined the First Christian Church at the age of 12 and was an active member. She was an active member in the Colorado City church and raised her family there as well, but she attended the First Methodist Church of Colorado City, then the Westbrook church with her daughter.
A private service for Glenn W. McDowell, 70, of Pittsburg will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Calvary Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow at Nevills Chapel Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant under the direction of Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
McDowell died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, in Longview.
He was born Nov. 30, 1940, in Mulberry. He was a metal trades teacher. He had received his Bachelor's of Education degree and had also been a machinist at Campbell's Soup in Paris, Texas and a truck driver.
Erma Lee (Haywood) Audsley passed away 31 October 2011 after a long battle with Parkinsonâs disease. Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 1, at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Gashland United Presbyterian Church, 8029 N. Oak Tfwy, Kansas City, Mo. followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Dewitt, Carroll County, Missouri.
