July 25th
Phyllis Fern Walker, age 75, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.Â
Her body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Â
Funeral services for Danny Orozco, 36, of Pleasanton and formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Frankie Santiago officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A prayer service and visitation will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
Orozco died Sunday, July 24, 2011, in Pleasanton.
He was born Nov. 21, 1974, in Sweetwater. He was a resident of Sweetwater most of his life. He had lived in Pleasanton since November 2010.
Syble Margaret Robertson Hobbs of Maryneal passed from this life on July 23, 2011. Syble was born to Pearl Perry Robertson on June 12, 1919. Her father, Charlie passed from flu and pneumonia in January 1919, five months before Syble was born. Syble and her mother moved to Runnels County shortly after Syble’s birth. They moved to Blackwell in 1928 and farmed. In August 1932, they moved to Maryneal. Syble went to school in Maryneal until the schoolhouse burned down, then to Highland for a short time. She worked several places taking care of children and keeping house.

Funeral services for Israel "Bombie" Morales, R.N., 51, of Sweetwater, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Frankie Santiago officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary was said at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
Morales died Friday, July 22, 2011, at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo.
A memorial service for Lark Samuel Campbell, 60, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Ward Hayes officiating.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Campbell died Friday, July 22, 2011, at his home.
He was born July 27, 1950, in Roscoe. He married Melisa Rawlings in 2003 in Sweetwater. Lark was a graduate of Sweetwater High School and attended San Angelo State University. He was a lifelong resident of Sweetwater and worked for USG for 35 years as a fork lift operator.
Carmaleta Whisenant Sudbrock, daughter of one of the area’s pioneer ranch families, died at home on July 18, at the age of 95. Born during World War I, Carmaleta grew up on a ranch in Fisher County. Although she lived
for several years in New Mexico, Florida and Utah, she remained at heart “a rancher’s daughter” who felt that there was no prettier place in the world than the West Texas prairie. She spent the final decades of her life on
Trent — Wanda Ruth Stubblefield Hodo, 82, died Friday, July 22, 2011 in Abilene, TX. Wanda was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother “Grannie”. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 25, at the McCaulley Methodist Church with Reverend J.W. Raney officiating. Burial will be in the Newman Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.

Hazel Joy Brown, age 89, of Brownwood, Texas (formerly of Sweetwater, Texas) passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Songbird Lodge Nursing Home in Brownwood.Â
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Clifton officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.  Â
Mary J. Knox, age 65, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.Â
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Enoch Cemetery in Gilmer, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Â

Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Ray T. Reyes, 58, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, recited by Deacon Bill Butler.
Reyes died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at his home.
