Graveside services for William D. "Bill" Swartz, 71, of Sweetwater, will be held Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at 10 a.m. in Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, Texas with Military Graveside Rites performed by the U.S. Army Military Honor Guard from Fort Hood, Texas with Chaplin Eddie Rivera officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Swartz died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
ROTAN — Charles Thornton, 70, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at Rolling Plains Hospital in Sweetwater. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Rotan. Burial will follow at Belvieu Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Sherion Mae Carter, 55, of Trent, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Pastor Eric von Atzigen officiating.
Carter died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, in Abilene.
She was born Dec. 21, 1955, in Dallas County. She married James Michael Carter on May 10, 1980, in Dallas County. Sherion moved to Sweetwater in 1999 and was a homemaker. She graduated from Mesquite High School and was a Baptist.

After a lengthy illness, Major Bennet B. Monde of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on 8 September, 2011, at the age of 82.
Funeral services for Catherin Louise Martin, 76, of Belton and formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Bruce Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Martin died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, in Belton.
Martin was born April 10, 1935, in Claudell, New Mexico. She married J.T. Martin on May 5, 1973, in Sweetwater. Catherin moved to the Sweetwater area in 1960 and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services for Mary Helen (Nunn) Hendrix, 66, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Brian Brownlow officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Hendrix died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

Adelle went to be with her Lord Sept. 1, 2011. She was born Sept. 14, 1929 in Sweetwater, TX, to Elmer and Carrie Patton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Family Funeral Home of Ballenger, Texas. Services are currently pending.
Funeral services for Maurine Blair Jones, 86, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Phillip Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Jones died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at her place of residence. She was married to Zane E. Jones on June 30, 1949, at Seymour, Texas.
